BookSmart

No internet connectivity when wanting to order the book.

Not sure what is causing my PC not to have internet connectivity when I press the order book button.  I have Microsoft XP and your download should work OK.  What is going on?

I have the same problem.  I assume it is because Blurb is unable to detect my proxy address.  I can access Blurb.com and login so I know I have internet connectivity, but when the blurb software tries to access the site directly, it fails.  Anyone know how to tell blurb software about the proxy server?

Hi there,

Hmmm, I would try signing into the Blurb Web site first and make sure your username and password work as expected, and then try uploading your book again.

If that doesn’t work this would be best handled by filling out a Customer Support Form, and one of our cheerful Customer Support Representatives will be in contact with you in one business day.

Hello, I have the same problem.  I’m running Booksmart version 1.8.1.17856 on Windows XP behind a proxy and it is unable to upload the book.  I have signed in successfully to the website, so I know my username/password combination work.  Any fixes for this??

Hi Guys;

Hope I’m not treading on anybody’s feet here…

All of these sound to me like Firewall issues!

Have you ensured that Blurb/BookSmart is "enabled" or "permitted" within your Firewall programs to make external connections?

I ran into the same "error" when I first tried to connect, and my Firewall was blocking my connection…

Just a suggestion…

Cheers;

Lee

I’m running into the same problem of internet connectivity, something about "an internet connection could not be established…unable to retrieve server endpoints"..read through the above suggestions and am still having problems.  I enabled Booksmart within my firewall, I have the newest version of Booksmart,  I made sure that username and passowrd are correct.  Any more suggetions would be great.  I did fill out a support form from blurb, but am anxious to order my book.

Thanks,

Eliza

The point of having a proxy is so you can bypass a firewall.  It doesn’t seem like Booksmart is picking up those settings.  If it was, I wouldn’t have a problem connecting to anything outside.  All my other applications work fine when I specify proxy settings, but Booksmart doesn’t have a way to do that.
