Text is not showing up in preview
I am making a cookbook and using the recipe layouts for most of my pages. When I go to preview my book, most or all of the text is not showing up. On pages that I have used the regular text layout, the text shows up fine. Any suggestions to help fix the recipe layouts would be appreciated. Thank you.

I’ve had that problem before, but it was only one text box that was causing me trouble, and it wasn’t a cookbook. Very strange.

I just posted the same problem. I am making a photo book with a good deal of text and this has happened to me on pages with different formats. I will be interested to see if anyone comes up with an idea!

Yes, I’m having the same issue. It seems anything in a footer area of a page shows up fine in the preview, but some accompanying text in the boxes above will not show up – also, the font will not change in editing mode. I noticed that the text that does not show up appears dimmer (e.g. white) than the the text that does show up. Does anyone have a solution for this issue?

We are aware of this BookSmart bug. This issue has been fixed and will be resolved in the upcoming BookSmart patch release.
We’ll notify the Forum community as soon as we have more information.

Okay I think I have found a solution until the new version comes out. I found that if I highlighted all the dimmer text that does not show up in preview and then cut it out using "CTRL C", and then immediately pasted it back in place "CTRL V", it shows up as bright as the footnote text. Save your revised text immediately and view in preview mode. It seems to now stay in place.

P.S. If you’re doing quite a bit of caption work – have a text backup in another programme; that way you can copy and paste again if the text has been lost or messed up.
