Auto-generate BookSmart files

Hi,

I have looked at the XML files generated by BookSmart and I was wondering if anyone is producing them “manually” by a program? I’d like to write a script that takes a title, author, book size, and a set of pictures and then automatically generates Blurb book pout of this information (and perhaps uploads it to Blurb). I have looked into using Blurb’s APIs as described on their website but the I am not into Ruby (more into PHP, AppleScript or C) and was therefore not really able to get the API running using PHP (asked for assistance in the developer forum but did not get any replies – there might not be that many people using the API).
