Text on spine repeating - Booksmart bug?I’ve seen other posts regarding problems with formatting the text on the spine. I have found what I believe is a bug in Booksmart which is certainly causing occasional problems for me. Apologies if tis has been noted already. After editing my book a few times, a Clipped Text Warning will appear for the textbox on the spine of my book which contains my name as author. My cover is black, with white print. What I discovered (by dragging the mouse before and after the visible text) was that somehow the text had been repeated multiple times, but I couldn’t see it because it was black on the black background. It’s no problem to delete it, but it has to be a bug that this is happening, because I never touch that text field. Except to fix this problem, that is! I suspect that the text gets repeated each time the project is opened – that would explain why the clipped text warning doesn’t appear every time, but only after a number of edits. Anyway, if you are having trouble with spine text, try dragging the mouse before and after the text you put there, and you may be surprised to see that you are selecting some text that should not be there.

I’ve had the same problem just recently.

A known bug with the latest version of BS. Contact tech support who say they have a cure.

Yes… this issue drove me insane when editing a book recently!!!

Yup, adding my voice to this. Just made a 10×8 portrait for the first time in ages (normally do a 13×11 for clients). Haven’t noticed it before, so maybe it’s a bug for this particular sized book?
