Please read this before uploading 1.9.2 - CHECK your monitor's bit depth!!
I can’t actually OPEN the new version after downloading it. A dialog box appears, telling me to "reset my monitor’s bit depth to display 32-bit colour." After searching round to see what that actually meant, I found that my older monitor didn’t have the option of upgrading to 32 bit. It only allows 24 bit or 16 bit. So, please BEWARE of this before downloading. Check your monitor’s bit depth. A prior notice on the download page would have been helpful, Booksmart, if not downright mandatory. I am now left in the sorry situation where I can no longer access the book I have just published in order to make upgrades to it, so I’ve had it with Booksmart – I’m looking for another publisher.

Hello Asokolow,
Your monitor doesn’t have anything to do with the color-bit depth. Book-Smart requires 32-bit Graphics to functions correctly and therefore it has a check built in. It sounds like your video card is being stretched to its limits and reverting back to a lower color depth.
So you might try changing your screen resolution down to 1024×768 and then change the color depth to 32-bit. Almost all computers made in the last 5 years should be able to support this.
Hope that helps.
