My guess is that it is the graphics card in your computer does not support the 32 bit depth that BookSmart requires – do you have an older computer? Have a read of this thread to see how to check this out and what the options are for you. If that doesn’t help come back and give us a bit more information about your computer specification. I’m surprised that customer support have not responded, when you used the Blurb Contact Support option did you, at the end of the process, get a pop up that gave you an incident number? If not the support request didn’t get submitted. If that is the case I’d try again – make sure when you get the pop up that says "your question hasn’t been submitted yet" that you click the "Finish Submitting Question" button – it’s surprising how many people do not do that. …..Tony

Hi rachel, I do not see a recent inquiry from you so it’s possible the question was never submitted (you should have gotten an automated email noting we’ve received the incitent). If you are using Windows XP you’ll need to see if your computer supports 32 bit color by changing these settings. -Craig

thank you both. i handed the (not old) puter over to my tech man with your bit depth instructions. he hit the booksmart icon and it loaded just fine. i have a special gift with technology. so, i’m on my way.

rachel – did you get an answer/solution that you can understand and correct? I am having exactly the same problem with the Vista system, any guidance? Ross

What a useless system Blurb has become – no customer support – much too complicated. After 6 books, I QUIT and am moving on to a more user friendly site.
