Software does not reopen once exited

If I am in Booksmart and close it down (properly by using either Exit of X) I cannot then reopen the software but have to go to Task manager, force close the process and then I can reopen the software.

Does anyone have any idea about what’s wrong?

You should not have to download the software again and again, but just restart the computer, and reopene your Booksmart program.
