BookSmart

Trouble Accessing Images

Hi out there, hope someone more tech savvy than I can help. I’m on a mac and I’m creating a book using Comic Life (a very cool program that came with my mac). I have successfully exported my images to iphoto .  Trouble is, when I open iphoto in Blurb, those images don’t show up,  My photos show up, so why not the Comic Life ones (they show up when I access iphoto the regular way).   Thanks to anyone who can figure this one out.

Hello Elsa,

I agree Comic life is a fun and unique application. The issue is that Comic Life exports its files to iPhoto as Tiffs, which are incompatible with BookSmart and hence BookSmart doesn’t see them.

Not to worry though, you can export all your Comic Life file to a folder on your computer, just make sure to select jpg as your formatting option. After this you should be all set.

Hi Ben,

Thank you!  It works.  Now I have another issue … I get that little camera icon when I put the into into blurb.  I adjusted and it seems to want a much smaller image. Is there a way to save the images as jpegs in a larger format?

Thanks again.

Hmmm, The warning icon shows up if an image is too small.

If your original image is small, like a capture from Photo Booth, there isn’t much you can do to change that. I would double check the image size in iPhoto, and possibly try putting the image in a smaller container.

Hope that helps.
