Locked Upload/Shipping Issues

What’s going on with uploading and shipping with the latest release of Blurb? I’ve done a few books and never had a problem and I love Blurb’s product. That said, the last book I did wouldn’t even upload to the site. Another friend of mine had a very similar problem when he did his first book. In my case, someone from Blurb had to upload it for me because it was a known problem and they had to intervene for me. (What’s the “known” problem and is it fixed?”) In my friends case, it just took days of tweeking and trying different things before his book finally uploaded. In his case, the help desk was unable to help him upload his book.

Next….

The following problem occured when the book finally got to the site… the shipping information was totally incorrect. I finally got my book but not before a lot of problems with the shipping flow. Another friend ordered a book and she got someone else’s??? It took her 3 times (and a LOT of hassle) to get the correct book shipped from Blurb?

Is anyone else having these kind of problems? I want to make sure these problems are fixed before I do another book.

I had a lot of trouble uploading my book, and that was months ago – it took hours and hours and many tries before it worked. I had hoped whatever the trouble was, it had been fixed by now.

I also experienced weird shipping hassles months ago – they sent me a book that was meant to go to someone else – it was a wedding album of people I didn’t know from Adam. So I had to mail that back and ask where is my own book you are supposed to have sent?

So then it tooks weeks to get my own book sent to me – it was very frustrating to get all that sorted out. I also assumed they had fixed whatever shipping troubles they were encountering – all this happened when the site was pretty new, but I see you just posted this, so apparently some of these problems are still happening.

Hello Julie and Judy,
From a technical standpoint, problems with uploading a book can stem from numerous sources such as: a Firewall blocking a port, a non-standard image in the book, or even an ISP timing out the modem. Our customer service team is here to help resolve issues like this and they’ll try to offer a preventative solution for your next book upload.

Blurb is still an evolving product and occasionally there can be growing pains, but always feel free to contact customer support if you are having difficulties with BookSmart or our site. They’ll take care of you.

I am having the same problem, tried on PC’s and MAC’s and can’t order any books.  Upload fails about 1/2 way through.  Tried many times to fill out the customer support form only to have it come up with errors also…. can’t contact Blurb on the phone, can’t e-mail them, can’t use their on-line form….. where do we go from here????  We are a commercial operation and order many many books in the past with no problems.
