Stuck in 'Loading'

I’m new at this game (but love the product). I’m using the Mac version of BookSmart. The program is stuck in ‘Loading’ mode for a few hours now with no results. It is trying to import from iPhoto and going nowhere.

I have tried quitting, restarting, starting a new book, deleting and reinstalling the application, etc. all to no avail.

Any advise?

I’ve email the tech support people. They quote a one day reply situation but I don’t know if they work on week-ends. I’ll let you know their reply.

I too am using a Macbook running Tiger (one month old) I’ve no other problems with the computer so I suspect a program glitch. Your similar problem suggests the same.

I got back the instructions as thus:

Hi Matt,

Please make sure the images meet the following criteria:
1)    JPG or PNG format
2)    RGB or grayscale color (no CMYK)
3)    Are saved on your hard drive and not on an external drive
4)    If you’re using iPhoto, that the library has its default name and is saved in its default location
5)    The images have no ICC/color profiles attached, nor any tags, such as keyword descriptions of the pictures.
6)    Please be sure that no images are saved as 16-bit files. 8-bit is the default, and you wil probably know if you have save any images as 16-bit. If so, please change those back to 8-bit files.
7) Between 150-300dpi. Images should be between 150-300 dpi (dots per inch or pixels per inch). For instance, a 5×7 image frame should be filled with an image that is at least 750×1050 pixels and no greater than 1500-2100 pixels.

have double checked all that and still no go with loading images….

Ive sent in another request…looks like its a mac thing? 

Found the fix…i had my file vault on and that was screwing up the transition between files and booksmart. Turned it off (which took about 3 hours) and its all working fine now!
