My book disappeared.
After 10-15 hours developing a 40 page book, it has completely disappeared. I was within an hour of the finish, when my computer froze as I was opening up BookSmart. The window outline had come up, but it displayed nothing. A program called "DelStat" seemed to be "not responding" so I ended that "task" in the Task Manager window. Then, the book appeared to be visible in the BookSmart window, but the photos were heavily pixilated. And frozen. Nothing was happening, so I "force quit" the computer by depressing and holding the power button. After re-starting the computer, I opened BookSmart. The intro window popped up and gave me the option of starting a new book, looking at directions, and something else. I was not permitted to select the option for opening an existing book. Though I have found files in the BookSmartData folder relating to the original project, none of them are 1) the book or 2) familiar. Having read through various postings on the Tech Forum, it seems I am not alone. I find it difficult to believe that the whole thing is gone, after having saved and re-accessed the book on previous occassions. Can someone direct me to a backup save location? Any help welcome. Thanks

Hello James,
This looks like it would best handled by filling out a Customer Support Form. Once this form is filled out someone from Blurb will be in contact with you in one business day.

Hi, My book disappeared as well!!! I e-mailed customer support. 1 day later I received an e-mail with directions to follow. Unfortunately the directions did not work. I am still waiting for another reply from customer service. A lot of work is put into making a book and disappeared in a second. How frustrating it is. I have been losing lots of sleep over this issue. My book is about 90 pages and I am still not done. I hope we will get help soon. Try to have a happy day.

Hi mariepalin,
Please be sure you’ve let your rep know the first instructions didn’t help. We’ll then escalate accordingly and that may take a bit longer if over the weekend. I’m sure we can get your book back so hang in there!
I’m going to lock this thread as nearly five years old now.
Regards,
Michael/Blurb Customer Support
