Saving a backup of a book

I have finished my first Blurb book and it’s being processed.  Since I’m done with it, I want to save some disk space by getting rid of files I no longer need.  From BookSmart, I exported my book into a .book file and right now I have it sitting on my desktop.  Does this file have ALL the info I need inside it?  I mean, that’s the WHOLE thing?  Because I’ve also got a folder in My Documents which BookSmart created, with a whole bunch of files in it that I can tell are BookSmart’s version of the pictures I used in the book (hope I’m saying this clearly, I know BookSmart saves its own version of my .jpgs and that’s what is in this folder in My Documents, plus apparently other files, too—pages, I guess?).

So my question is, can I safely delete this folder, now that I have exported a .book backup from BookSmart?

Thanks!

Hi ErinGoBragh,

If I were you, I’d test importing that file on another computer to ensure all is well. But if it imports correctly, than yes, the exported file contains your whole project. I hate recommending the deletion of files these days when the price of storage has dropped so much. But if you’ve got a working exported copy of your book, you can indeed remove that book project folder from BookSmartData.

Cheers,
Jeremy
