Open existing files

In version 1.9.5, I can’t locate my saved books.  I can locate them in earlier versions, but can’t open them up since they were made with 1.9.5, even when I reinstall 1.9.5.  I don’t seem to have anyway to tell the software where my books are, the OPEN option is grayed out.

 Please help, I’m on a big deadline, and had just finished a book.

Hi Freddif,

Did you ever change your Book Directory/Library Location? It sounds like BookSmart isn’t looking in the right place for your files. To correct this:

1) Please open BookSmart, start a new book if you aren’t given the option to open any books, and, once the book is open, please go to BookSmart’s FILE menu and select Change Library Location.

2) Please navigate to your user folder, highlight (but don’t double-click) "My Documents" and select "Choose."

3) Then go back to the FILE menu and select Open Book. Your books should now be on the list of projects to open.

If not, please contact Customer Support and they should be able to get you back on track.
