How do I change the themes from portrait landscape to portrait? I can’t seem to get the landscape themes over to the portrait themes.

Hello Wingsrflyin,
To change a book from landscape to portrait, you will need to start a new book, with the portrait orientation.

Hi Wingsrflyin,
Our next release of BookSmart will make all themes available across all book sizes as well as introduce a bunch of new themes. I recognize that doesn’t help you immediately, but if what you’re looking for is access to colors in one theme, that’s possible in the current version of BookSmart (1.8).
Here’s how: Click on the “Backgrounds” button the top toolbar. If the color you’d like is not available, click the “Customize” button. This will pop up a color chooser that lets you pick or create any color under the sun. You can change this color on every page by either multiselecting the pages (CTRL-A or CMD-A), Shift-Click, or by checking the “Apply to All Pages” check box in the “Backgrounds” menu. I have a somewhat silimar problem. I downloaded the new beta version 1.8 but have had problems with the themes and background colors. I’m using the photo landscape 13×11 book size. The tour on the website shows at least 7 different themes to choose from but I only have 3 and when I made the change to the new version my background colors changed and I have had to manually, page by page (over 200 pages), select the color and apply it. I have tried reinstalling the software but when I import my existing book draft it reverts to the wrong background. How do I get to the multiple theme to download in the new version? This is my first book so I didn’t know to save all the photos that I’ve included in the book all in one location so just starting over is out of the question. Thanks, J

The next version will be available within the next 1-2 months. All current and new themes will be included in the download.
Jbarne39, one tip that shoudl help is regarding multiple-select of pages. In BookSmart 1.8 you can mutli-select pages and change background color in addition to move, copy, cut and delete). To multi-select simply Shift-Click or Ctrl-Click (CMD-Click on Macs) mutliple pages in the page browser area (bottom of BooKSmart interface). You can also Select-All (CTRL-A / CMD-A) to select all pages.
