question > *two-page-spread*

Hello,
so I’ve been trying to find out how do create what many refer to
as a "two-page-spread".
I found this site here with a tutorial >>>

theartofengineering.wordpress.com/2008/01/12/putting-a-ph…

I downloaded the free template for a 13X11 blurb book here >>>

theartofengineering.wordpress.com/2008/01/22/free-blurb-t…

So after opening the template in Photoshop I placed my photo in it.
Like so >>>

www.flickr.com/photos/23771637@N05/3068311599/sizes/o/

As in the tutorial described I used the marque tool in order to select the image with the overlay. I then measured the length from the first to the third of the help lines on the very right side of the right page and
copied and moved my selected portion according to the measured length to the right side.

The overlay now looks like this (close up) >>>

Did I do everything the right way?
cheers,
Ben

This approach was developed by Robin and is not a Blurb supported approach. I’m not sure if Robin is active in the forums these days, I haven’t seen a post from her for some time.

But at the bottom of her instructions ( in the first reference you give above) she provides a facility to comment or ask questions about her templates. It might pay you to post a comment asking her to view this thread in the Blurb forums and respond to you.

Hi Tony,

I just received my first blurb book ever. I’m so impressed with the quality! As you know I used the two page spread approach by Robin. It looks perfect in the book! I can highly recommend it!

best,

Ben

Ditto.  I’ve used Robin’s bethod on multiple two page spreads and it works great.

 Yours looks correct Ben.
