Color problems with "Import"

I want to be able to work on my books on two computers, my desktop and laptop. BOTH MONITORS HAVE BEEN CALIBRATED. I have exported my book to a CD so I could import it to my laptop, but it imports with the dreaded purple coloration (quite heavy and dark) throughout the entire book. I tried importing from the CD back to my desktop to make sure that the file was not corrupted, and it imported perfectly. I copied the file from the CD to my laptop hard drive and imported from there; same problem. I exported again from the original (good) file and tried over; same problem. Both OS are the same—WinXP. Any suggestions?

PS—These are color photos in the original, not black-and-white.

PS again: I should also say that I have already referred to the FAQ on this issue, to no avail.

As I understand it, the file originated on your desktop but looks incorrect on your laptop.

When you work on the file on the laptop and import it back into the desktop, does the work you did appear correct?  Laptop to Desktop?

If so, just make sure you final version is on the desktop, no?
