BookSmart

File not foud error. No error message.

I was done with my second book and did some housekeeping on my D drive.  I moved all my photo maps back to C.  After this was done, I started up BookSmart, which tried to open my last book, but… it hung.  NO WARNING, NO ERROR MESSAGE, just plain nothing.  I moved back the map holding the pictures of the book and… voila!

It would be nice to have an error messeage telling that it cannot find the files, and/or a possibility to tell where the map and pictures can be found.  I come from the pre-DOS century and have some ideas of how it works.  If some newbie would have tackeld the same problem, it would have resulted in a "I lost my book" cry for help.

Best regads, Bernard

Hello Bernard,

In the upcoming version of BookSmart a lot of work has gone into supporting more flexible file systems that would prevent this from occurring. Thanks for your insight on this issue, and rest assured we have looked into this.

Hi Ben, thanx for your reply.  Since you’re able to tell something about the technical aspects, could you please look into my question dated September 28th (addressed to Brian)?  It’s about spontaneous folding of the application, which I think is caused by data stack problems.  Would be happy to hear from you.

 Best regards, Bernard.

Hello Bernard,

I always appreciate a good technical question. Honestly without specific details its a bit difficult to answer what the exact cause is. I would suggest filling out a Customer Support Form and someone from Blurb will be in contact with you in one business day. This way we can do some specific research and tailor the answer to your particular case.

Hope that helps.
