BookSmart

Text editing

Having the spell check is great but is there a way to;

1) Start from a nominated page and continute (there only seems to be a single page or start from the begining).

2) Can you add/remaove words from the dictionary? I’m creating travel books, with lots of name place and although you can "ignore all" it would be great to add some words.

3) Can you search or search and replace on the text?

 regards, John

1) no

2) no

3) no

in short, the spell check for this program leave quite a bit to be desired.  perhaps in the next version we’ll get some of these?

Hi Oddball and Crosby,

We are working on greater flexibility in the text engine and the spell checker. Your insights are duly noted and this is an area of development currently.

Is there a way to get special symbols on certain text?

For special characters I cut and paste from the character map available in Windows (Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Character Map).

Note: as BookSmart does not allow for different fonts in the same text box make certain that you are using the same font when selecting a character in Character Map.

Hope this helps – Thanks for the other responces.

Hello oddball508;

Just a point of clarification… unless this is another bug in BookSmart – you CAN selectively change fonts within a text panel…

Simply highlight the text you want to apply the change to, and select the new font.

Note that the "new" font will then assume the "default" font in use role, so you will need to re-select your base later…

Cheers;

Hi Lee

Thanks for that. Very true. I don’t know where I got that one from. It is still a good idea that when you use Character Map to use the same font when possible.

 Thank again,

John
