Hi DTFoto, Since this is an isolated issue you’ll want to continue working with support on this. We should get you up and running soon. -Craig

Just installed the latest, keeps crashing. Windows 7 64bit . Not good.
|
I also just installed it and started a new book (my 6th). Crashed three times before I could finish an edited format title page. And before the crashes, I kept getting Clipped Text warnings in text boxes easily large enough to hold the text. This is a very BAD start for your “improved” update. I think you should consider allowing people to download OLD versions that were stable. I’m afraid I deleted mine before I downloaded 2.9. Brad [Moderator note: Apple crash self-resolved by user].

The photo slurper is repeatedly crashing when I am trying to slurp photos from a LiveJournal blog. There are only 15 photos in the entire blog, hardly something that requires a complex effort on the part of the software. I’ve notified Customer Support but I have to say that so far I am very, very frustrated with your software and am going to go see if book-to-blog might be accomplished faster on some other site. I thought this was the best one because LiveJournal advertised it, but I have had nothing but repeated hangups of the program at the photo slurp step (this is after I already had to contact Customer Service just to get my download and install to work as it kept telling me I did not have Java when I did). If this is the fault of the new release, the designer needs to go back to school.

I just downloaded Booksmart 2.9 for Mac and it crashes when loading the program everytime. (I submitted a crash report). Anyway I can download a previous stable version?
|
Hi all, Thanks for the feedback. As always, please read the forum sticky prior to posting in the forum. You’ll see that BookSmart crashes, although rare, do happen and are better assisted through contacting Customer Support. So if you haven’t done so already please do so we can get you up and running once again. -Craig

Hi , Just down loaded the newer version of Blurb….. using Windows 7 My book keeps crashing when I try to get a photo from the computer as well and when I format the tex or move any photos that I have up around. Driving me nuts This only started yesterday after I updated the program [Moderator note: User inquiry solved through Customer Support]

Quoting from Blurb’s notice of the availability of this new software (above in this thread) : “- This version also crushes some pesky bugs that caused crashes more times than we’d like to admit.” If it did that, it simultaneously created what I consider to be new, fatal bugs…..at least on a Mac. My experience with this new version is that it seems to be unusable because of bugs. I strongly suggest you keep using your prior versions till this gets fixed. I downloaded it onto my Mac and started another photo book. After a day of working OK, it started crashing. Customer Support sent me to a 3rd party site???? to download it again, which I did. Worked OK for a day, and then has crashed 23 times in the past 3 days of trying to use it. I’ve sent my error log and error report to them and my case has been referred to Tech Specialists. My prior experiences with the earlier versions have been pretty positive. This has been an absolute nightmare. [Moderator note: Apple crash self-resolved by user].

we downloaded this about 1 week ago (today is 1/8/2011). we began a book as a gift only to have the app crash. the crashes continue… after about every 2 or 3 minutes of use. we dont detect any particular pattern associated with the crash so its tough to trouble shoot. from our perusal of the forums and other sources on the web, it seems this software is very unstable. please advise. is an earlier version any more reliable. jft
