1.9.1 S-L-O-W-W-W-W-W-W
Ack! I was doing OK with version 18.x but was sudeuced by the possibility of more layout options. Well, not only do I not see the "45 new picture layouts", but now when I open the book I created in version 1.8.x, it is horrible slow – there’s like a 3 second delay when I type text. I tried creating new book just to see what would happen. Well, I can get photos, and drag and drop them to the book, but them I cannot edit them. Please please please…can we have 1.8.x back?? I cannot even work on my nearly complete book now… I was hoping to print it by week’s end.

Hi, I am currently near the end of of my 350 + page book and everything has been going just fine using the old 1.8 version. Now I see there is a new version out and many are having problems. I would like to know if I can continue (until finished) with my old version, upload and order before obtaining the new version? CJAYJR

Hello CJAYJR; Yes – you can complete your project using 1.8… There is no NEED to upgrade if 1.8 is working for you.. In fact, I would highly recommend NOT upgrading if 1.8 is working OK for you! And when you do upgrade – make sure you check-out some of my prior posts about taking precautions for backing-up your BookSmart data folder BEFORE you upgrade… It’s a one-way street to 1.9! Cheers; Lee

Same problems with the slowness. It looks like the CPU is completed pegged while doing text/photo editing. I/O write and reads aren’t moving at all when the cpu get to 100%. It would be nice if I had dtrace for windows! Oh, and I have 738MB of free memory when this is happening. Since I started my new book at 1.9.1, I’m worrying about downgrading to 1.8.
