If you are using BookSmart to create your book (which I assume you are as you posted this in the BoolSmart forum) the book will still be on your PC. All you need to do is upload it again. …..Tony

Can someone tell me how to save a book that I am working on in booksmart. I am afraid my computer is going to crash and I will loose everything. Thank You in advance for your help
|
BookSmart is automatically saving your book all the time you are using it. On a WIndows PC it saves it in the BookSmartData folder in My Documents (or Documents if you are using Windows 7), So if you are regularly backing up your My Documents folder to an external device your book will be part of that backup. (If you are not you should start! You will lose a lot more data than your book.) If you are wanting to make a copy that you can import to another PC (or back to your existing one when it is fixed) have a look at this blog, the FAQ on Backup leads you there. …..Tony

It is very unlikley that your book is lost, more likely that BookSmart can’t find it. It is probably best to contact Customer Support (see below if you are not sure how) but one thing I’d try first – open BookSmart and start a new book – choose the "wing it" option then go to the File menu and select Close Project – no need to add text or photos first. That might just re-connect BookSmart with your book files. Then select the Open A Book button and see if your "missing" book is in the list.. To contact Customer Support go to the Help menu at the top or bottom of this page and select Customer Support, from there select the Contact Support tab. Let us know when you get going again. …..Tony
