Locked Image Resolution Error on Page(s) 0 ????

I keep getting an Image Resolution Error on page 0? is this the cover? because I don’t have any images on my cover. I literally took the cover template, added two lines of text, and called it done. What’s going on?

Also, I’ve been using Adobe Suite for years. I’m am educated graphic designer who knows how to manage files and image resolutions. I’ve checked my images. They seem fine to me.

As I’ve been searching the forums, it seems a lot people have problems with the image resolution error. Is there a way to get the book published, even if the error occurs? A way to bypass the error essentially. That way people that are sure their book is correct, or at least good enough for them, can get a copy. The bypass could be a quick fix until blurb figures out what’s going on with the random resolution errors.

I have this same problem, and I’ve contacted technical / customer support and they haven’t replied (I sent the problem in on Saturday) except to ask a few questions they say they’re elevating it to technical support.

I don’t know what the problem is, I’ve spent hours trying to fix it and I really need to have sent this book for print last week. I’ve sent a book in the past and it was perfect so I don’t know what the problem is!

Did anybody work out why this error happens. I have recieved it around 5 times now and am on the verge of giving up with my book.

My front cover artwork is a 100% 300dpi CMYK (Flattened) PSD that experots through the BLurb preset correct. When i uplaod i get a low res image error. There is nothing on cover except 1 full wrap image – no text to rasterize. No images to flatten. I have tried uploading a 600dpi image and still get same error message.

No response from the help / techincal team. Very frustrated!

Hi jamesbassett,

It looks like support has been conversing with you since your intial inquiry yesterday. Sorry the recommended solution didn’t work for you.

As I note in the response above, support is the best place to solve this problem (as it’s an isolated issue with your file). Your ticket is still open and someone should be getting back to you soon.

So.. i thought i would post an update so everybody can learn how we fixed my issue.

The Page(0) Error is not very descriptive. It actually has nothing to do with Low-resolution images, but it is a catch-all when the Preflighter has been overwhelmed and is crashing. This occurs when the file contains too many vector images that are overly complex. The error message applies to the COVER and INSIDE pages!

So what i had to do was CONVERT every vector image i had used in my book into a hires PSD. So all EPS, AI, PDF files etc.. Then i ran the file back through the Blurb Export settings and reuploaded the PDF. NOW all the errors have gone and i can finally print my book!

So in total i spent 5 days designing my book and then 4 days trying to get it printed. I hope that anybody who has any issues with the Page (0) error message in future finds this useful. I know i found the whole error message problem a massive headache but am over the moon it has now been fixed!
