Spine Color

I know that for paperback books shorter than 80 pages you can’t put an image on a spine. However, can you at least make it a certain color so that it doesn’t come out just plain white? My front and back images are b&w photos that are full bleed and having a white spine would look really unprofessional for the paperbacks.

Yes.

If you are using BookSmart just go to the cover and select Background from the menus at the top of the window and choose your colour. That will apply to the whole cover (front, back, spine and flaps). As your images on the front and back are full bleed you won’t, of course, see the background on those.

If you are using Bookify go to the front page of your cover and you’ll see a painters palette icon at the bottom right, just under the cover, you select the background colour there, it applies to the whole cover just as it does with BookSmart.
