Tips and Tricks

Blog to book?

Is there a way to just import my blog into a book without having to mess with each page?  I want it to look just like it does on my blog with text and pics in chronological order.  This is WAY too complex for me and when it autopopulates the book, the pics are so small it would be worthless to print.  Ugh.  Someone please help?  I don’t have time to go through page by page and reformat.

In my experience, NO! Maybe someone else has figured out a way but I haven’t. I’m currently working on my 7th blog book. I have had to edit page by page for every book I’ve made. I also like to include the comments from each post into the book, which requires a lot of copy/paste and editing. When BookSmart first came out and I did my first book, you had an option to include comments. Unfortunately, that option disappeared. I also began getting pictures from my computer instead of using the pictures BookSmart slurps. They are better quality, and make it easier to use page templates that have bigger picture areas. I usually reference my blog while working on the book, make note of the picture file (ex: IMG_608, which appears when scrolling over the picture on the blog), and upload them into the program one or two posts at a time, also getting all the comments for each post. Yes, it is time consuming, and I sometimes sit at the computer for days while working on my books. The time is worth it though, I can make the book look exactly how I want it to, and know that each page is edited correctly. It’s an amazing feeling of accomplishment when they arrive in the mail! They also make wonderful presents for family members. Good Luck and DON’T GIVE UP!!!
