Can I "sweeten" a contributed photo?

This program is so amazing and if I wasn’t white-knuckle-racing my project to my Mother’s 70th Birthday party in 12 Days I would look much more closely at color correcting and resizing of photos, etc. Next time.

Through iPhoto I took the time to at least sharpen, enhance, etc. the images already in my possession. (I don’t have PhotoShop or I’d use that, I’m sure.)Here’s my question: I’m waist deep into building my photo book so far and have received some wonderful contributed images. Is there a way to “enhance” them through my iPhoto program, or better yet, any corrective software linked to the actual download page my sibling’s photos landed in?

I have to say Blurb has been great so far. (If only I could call you….) But I’m flying this project like Don Knotts, huffing and puffing, popping my eyes out and sucking my cheeks in—ONLY because of my deadline, my complete lack of experience in this realm, and the nagging worry that the varied photos from several sources I have already placed in over some 40 pages of the book (some new digital shots, some 70 year old degraded snaps, and everything in between) will look like they came straight out of the Emerald City when I get my Mom’s book.

Advice?

Hello andykreiss;

Nothing like leaving things to the last minute!

The short answer to your question is YES – you CAN "sweeten" your contributed images… But the work-around is a little arduous…

I’m assuming that the "contributed" images you are referring to is by having used Blurb’s "Invite Contributors" facility… If so, then read this post…

Saves me having to re-type it all !

Good luck & I hope your Mum has a great day…

Cheers;

Lee

Many thanks, Lee. I took a look. Wow. I’ll save that for my next project so that what’s left of my hair doesn’t catch on fire. Red Eyes be damned.

Best,

Andy
