I believe that elements can do this, just not sure about the bevel and emboss. You can download a trial version from adobe for free to try it. The procedure in photoshop is roughly: Open 300 dpi document in photoshop to the page or cover size you want. Copy a photo into the document and adjust the size and position on the page. Add a new layer above the photo. My new layer is defaulted to clear, if yours fills the page with white, black, or some other color, select the layer in the layer palette, select all (select menu), and then clear (edit menu). You should be able to see the picture. Draw a rectangle the size of the desired banner banner across the new layer. Choose a color for the banner. Fill the rectangle with the paint bucket tool. Reduce the opacity of the banner to about 65% or to your taste. Click on the fx button on the bottom of the palette menu. Check emboss and click on it. I used a smooth inner bevel with 100% depth and a size of 50 pixels. Just for fun I added an inner glow as well. Again check the inner glow box then click on inner glow. I added 191 pixel inner glow, but just play with the sliders and use whatever looks good to you. Add another layer. Select the text tool, select a font and select the size text you want. Type the text. Adjust the size, font, color, alignment etc. as necessary. Click on the fx button on the bottom of the palette menu. I added a 16 pixel smooth inner bevel to really give the text a 3d look. Then I added inner and outer glow to really make the text stand out. Once you are familiar with photoshop it’s quite easy. It took much longer to type this up than it did to make a similar creation. Mike
