Importing images and image settings

Why is it that Blurb Books has to have all image in CMYK? I found out that it will only accept images in RGB, which is rather annoying as I have lino prints and want to retain some of the original colours. Is there a way to make Blurb Books acccept CMYK imagery?

Hi there,

To clarify, any images used in BookSmart or Bookify must be in sRGB or RGB (sRGB is best, however). You cannot use CMYK or greyscale images.

If you’d like to use CMYK images please consider our PDF to Book workflow. This will allow you to use CMYK images, though you should also read our section on color management for a PDF workflow.

Cerridwen211,

I encountered the same frustration.  My solution was to convert all images to CMYK first, then convert them back to RGB.  That way you know the color will match the CMYK palette.
