Be forewarned, don't upload a new copy of your file just yet...
I recently ordered four copies of my book, "The Lost Adventure" that was actually the fifth copy of the book. After ordering the most recent four copies, I found two of the chapters had different fonts. I fixed that quickly and uploaded the new file. I went to then announce the books availability so all of my friends and family could order copies of the book only to find out that BLURB is requiring me to order yet another copy of my book before I can announce the books availability. It appears that is a hard and cold rule that even if you change one period, and upload the new book, you now have to order another copy. The odd thing is that at least ten people would have ordered books so I can’t figure out BLURB’s policy in this regard. Be forewarned folks. I would appreciate to hear if anyone else has had this unfortunate and not very customer oriented policy
Again, I am very sorry and I we do appreciate any and all feedback. Warm Regards, Molly

I am very disappointed in your responses to my request. I ordered four recent copies of my book, upon receipt I found two chapters with a different font and re uploaded the new file. Now you say I have to "purchase" a book before I can announce its availability when I just purchased four copies (2 hard copy 2 soft copy). This policy of yours makes no sense at all except perhaps technologically if you guys haven’t figured out how to let someone announce a books availability without an order. I can understand that given the long wait for your most recent update to the software.
Business wise though, your customer policy is very flawed and you should revisit this to try and keep some of the new customers who in fact can "sell" you lots of books above and beyond the one book that you are trying to have them purchase.
And now I recently got a message that you are going delete my new file unless I order a book soon?
I can understand a company having policies but when you get an obvious case where a customer has in fact ordered books and then changed a font and up loaded a new file, that the customer should be allowed to announce his book that hasn’t changed at all except for that issue.
In the end though, I think that is a failed policy and I am sorry you don’t feel that way.

It’s not the only counter-productive approach to doing business that Blurb has adopted. Refer to the lack of support for non-US Authors. These people do not appear to have heard of the "Law of Unintended Consequences."
