page visits vs. number of books sold

hi all,

I uploaded my first book today. I was not planning on tracking sales or data on it, I did not even know Blurb had that feature. Now I’m intrigued by the idea.

I wanted to know from people that have sold books here if you found an average number of page visits equaled X number of books sold. I guess this would not apply to wedding or event books, because those have a built in finite base to sell to.
It’s mostly the art books that I’m interested in hearing about.

thanks for the help,

- jonathan

Lat week I had 406 page visits and sold one book. Generally the page visits escalate the week you have uploaded a new book because it appears on the first page of the Blurb bookstore and lots of folks will look at ti just to see what you’ve done. i woudn’t count on causal visitors like this for potential sales – you really must market your own book to friends, family and folks interested in the book.

PS – I’ve sold over 200 books, but NONE have resulted from a casual visitor to Blurb.

CWN, thank you for your reply. I guess I’ve been doing the same thing, looking at peoples books.
I’ve seen a bunch I’d like to buy. If I got them all I could not afford to get my own ;-)

maybe some day Blurb could organize a book swap :-)

I’m in the process of creating my own little library of titles, once I get enough to choose from I’ll begin to market them.
