Copyright question

I am creating an album of our wedding photos and would like to include copies of the bible readings from our service. Any idea weather or not this is acceptable?

Thanks!

I’m sure GOD won’t object.  And, I doubt if the Bible publishers will either, seeing they copied is from somwhere to begin with.

In the U.S., everything created before 1923 is in the public domain. The Bible predates that by a year or two, so you’re fine.

The translation might be copyrighted, though. Even so, I doubt that anyone will be beating down your door with a cease and desist letter.

Help!  I’m writing a new book and my copyright question is this:

If I write a story from a copyrighted newspaper article, am I in violation of the copyright?

Thanks for any help!

What do you mean “from a copyrighted article”? Are you using it as a source? If so, you can write what you want as long as it’s in your own words. You can also quote directly from the article as long as it’s a brief quote. Copyright basics can be found here:

http://www.copyright.gov/

What you are interested in is the Fair Use clause.
