Book Design and Imaging

full spreads ?

"full spread" may not be the correct term, but what I would like to do is have an image that is printed fully across both facing pages. I saw an example of this done on the blurb website in the flash example books. Any help? Thanks.

I posted this on this thread http://forums.blurb.com/forums/2/topics/2668

"You need to make sure the layout of two facing pages is the same, with full bleed images (or at least full bleed into the gutter). Then get your picture and just import the same pic onto both pages, and then zoom and drag it in BookSmart so that it lines up and you have half on each page. Make sure the zoom slider is in the same position on both sides. I have a test book on the way and have allowed a small overlap to account for the gutter – will be interesting to see how it turns out!"

Since then my book has arrived and it worked brilliantly. Maybe I would leave a little more overlap in the gutter as the book binding seems quite "deep" so you can’t see right to the centre.

If you have any more questions post here and I’ll try and help out!
