Book Design and Imaging

removing photo

i have been dragging and dropping my image into booksmart… then ill view it at full zoom and see if it needs to be edited/ touched up. Ill edit the photo in an outsider program … delete the original photo from the library on the left and then RE drag and drop the new image into the same container..

my question is.. are the ORIGINAL files still located in my library somewhere taking up extra memory?  i know booksmart creates three files, and ive found all the files but they are not named easily for me too see what is stored in the folder or if i have hundreds of extra photos in my folder that im not using in my book.

if booksmart DOESN’T automatically delete them.. then how do i do that if the file names are all numbres/letters and i cant view a thumbnail?

thanks!!

Yes it does delete them. At the point you delete the photo it just removes it from the Imported Photos list, it actually deletes all three versions from the BookSmartData directory when you shut down BookSmart. If you then import a new photo of the same name it does the sensible thing!
