Blank pages at start and finish of the book.

Please can someone clarify. I have been looking at my two previously printed hard back books.

When you open the book. the first thing you see is a plain white page of a rougher paper type than the rest of the book. You turn this over to find the title page. Same again at the rear of the book after the Blurb logo end page.

Is this automatically added to every book, or just the hard back book. Or is this a page I need to account for as page 1 when I am creating my book in Booksmart if i want a blank page.

If I have my title page as page 1, do I still get the double sided rougher white page anyway as a standard thing, or do I need to add them as pages 1 & 2 and have the title as page 3.

Don’t want to waste two printed pages in the book trying to achieve a blank page at the front only to find I get 4 blank pages when its printed.
