Book Design and Imaging

Capturing Front Cover Artwork

A specialist paragliding magazine want to run a story about my new Blurb book  ‘Scottish Paragliding’.
They have asked if I can supply them with a hi-res copy of the front cover for inclusion in the article.
Is there any way I can capture a copy of the front cover of sufficient quality to meet their needs?

Is you book of a size that you can scan the cover?  If so scan it at the resolution the magazine is requesting.

I think he’s talking about pulling it from booksmart, not from the final product.

He may be evenrich, but there is no facility for doing that.

 Local printing from BookSmart does not include tha ability to print the cover, if it did it would probably have the watermark that appears on the internal pages.

Taking a screenprint of the cover would give an unnacceptable 72dpi image.

Terri’s advice is probably the best there is.

If you havn’t had it printed yet but are designing it, why not send them a pdf of the cover from your designs?

How come you don’t have your front cover design sitting at your computer? You must have uploaded it from somewhere in order to get it in your book.
