Book Printing

unstuck book

Can anyone help or just comment as I am now on my third time lucky with a book I have ordered.Blurb do seem to be switched on in the customer relations department but I have now ordered a book the largest size hardback they do with about 130 pages but each copy so far has arrived with sections dropping out. They have sent a fresh copy out but then when this arrived I had the same issue so again they are sending a new book but each time I ham having to wait about three weeks and my customer is getting a little impatient. Has anyone else had this issue?.  I really want this product from this company to work for me and my business. I only hope to raise awareness.I can’t afford to keep receiving poor quality copies.

Thanks for your post.  I just received my new set of three books yesterday with 384 pages. They are beautiful.  No pages are coming out.  Hopefully this time they will get yours right.  I am just a family photographer not professional but everyone loves my snaps and loved the books at Christmas even with the pages falling out. They told me if Blurb wouldn’t fix them they would keep them as they were but I have to say Blurb responded quickly and professionally and the books are awesome!

I’m not satisfied with pages falling out of my book. The book is a collection of grocery lists, but they are supposed to stick together. That’s why it’s a book, not a stack of grocery lists.

I put a second complaint tonight and I hope it will turn out OK (the first time it didn’t)

Markludbrook, are you living in europe? That might be the problem, the printer they use in Europe is awful with their binding. I have so far seen 3 books from there and they all fall apart within 3 viewings

If you are in the UK, it’s likely your book was printed in the Netherlands. I have had the same problem with 200 page large format books printed there. In the end I got 8 dodgy books for the price of 5 perfect ones. I was satisfied with Blurb customer service since they were generous and helpful and I felt I couldn’t keep complaining, but the European binding is a problem, and I probably won’t be making any more large format books until the feedback improves.

Last Thursday the 2nd reprint was delivered: 15 pages with stains and many white gaps, breaking two paged photographs into two.

Customer Service advised me to hold projects on large hardcover books until further notice.

Blurb is working hard to get the European printer on track.  The service Blurb gives is great; I got a refund plus two reprints.

Let’s hope one day the European printer will do its job the way it should.
