Open Question for the Blurb team about large format books...

Hello Blurb Team;

There have been a number of posts recently which indicate that you are advising users NOT to upload or attempt to buy large volume, large format books, due to quality-of-binding issues!

Is that correct?

I am just about to start building another 200-250 page large format (13×11) photo-book… what is the "official" Blurb position please on this please?

Many thanks;

Cheers;

Lee

Hi Lee, we are not saying that users should not attempt to purchase books as you described, just that we are indeed seeing a higher-than-average defect rate in these products which we are in the process of correcting network-wide.  That said, if your book is not time sensitive then I would indeed consider delaying a bit.  As mentioned in an earlier thread, we were hoping to have a solution in place by the end of February but it now appears that equipment acquisition is taking a bit longer.

 As always, we’ll stand behind our products if you create your new book and have manufacturing issues.

Thanks to all of you for your great patience with us!

Best,

Just read this post… April 2008.. has this issue been resolved? I ordered a 10×8 test book and was THRILLED with the results.. but i am thinking of using the 13×11 for my actual book ( a gift) and i am a little worried if there will be a difference
