soft cover curl?Do the covers of soft cover books curl easily? If so, how soon can I expect the cover to begin to curl under normal use? Thanks! Michael

I have no idea if they will curl over time, but the softcover books I recently received do ‘spring open’ a little after reading/looking at them a couple times. If ‘curling’ is going to be a problem for you, perhaps you should consider a hardcover? I’m still pleased with my softcover books.

I have just received a soft-cover book this week and it is curling terribly. It looks shocking. I would never get a soft-cover again if this is what happens to them. I have tried to scan some pictures of the cover curl (sorry, don’t have my camera handy) which might give you some idea.

Hi, Very sorry to hear about your book – soft cover books should not be curling terriblly. Sounds like it might be a manufacturing defect. Please contact our customer support department so we can look into this for you. Thanks for your patience. – Kathy

I ordered an 8 × 10 soft cover book and within a few days the cover page started to curl. Then, after a few more days, the inside pages started to curl as well, though less so. The cover is curling up at the edges about 2-3 inches on one side, and approximately one inch on the other. The inside pages have developed an "S" shape. I also ordered a book using iPhoto on my Mac. While the soft cover is not as good quality as the Blurb book, I’ve had no curling problem after several months.

I ordered a softcover 7×7 book (not one of mine) in July 09. I just looked at it & the covers are starting to curl – look like photo above. The book has been on a shelf inside a bookcase away from sun & heat. Today was only the 3rd time anyone had looked at the book – definitely not excess wear & tear. It was in perfect condition when I rec’d it. I’m working on a book that will be hardcover 10×8. I was planning on also ordering a couple of copies in softcover as Xmas presents but after reading all the blogs about the problem & seeing my book do it, I will probably not order softcover. Something really needs to be done since this seems to be an ongoing problem.
