Photographs JPG – which is what JPEG was designed for by the Joint Photographic Expert Group.
Any images with text, fine lines or drawings, etc I find .png is better as the compression algorythms are "lossless" which results in less artifacts or jaggies in the resultant print. If you are scaling your photos a lot in BookSmart (say more than +/- 30%) - shrinking or expanding them to fit an image container and they contain a lot of fine lines (e.g grass stalks, wisps of hair) or diagonal straight lines that you can get with photos of buildings (e.g. the windows) the .png will be of benefit to those as well. …..Tony
