Can I Sell My Book?

I am under the age of 18 but I already have my book made and ready to go. I read that you had to be 18 to sell your book. Can I sell my book anyways? Perhaps under my mother’s name?

Hi Sarah –

In our Terms and Conditions, it states in Section 4.1 that you need to be 18 to buy a copy of the book, and Section 1.1 of the Set Your Price Agreement states that you must be 18 to enter the program.

Really? I did not know that. My parents actually bought the book.

I was just wondering if my parents could set up an account under their name, I upload my book, and they enroll themselves in the program and sell the book as my managers per say. Would it be legal? If I gave them complete control and rights of my material, could they sell it? They would earn the money. They would pay the taxes. The only thing I would be involved in was ceating the material.

Hi Sarah,

Have you heard the line "on the internet no one knows you’re a dog"?  Anyway, if you do just as you said, for all Blurb will know, it’s your mom’s book. As long as she’s OK with it, you’re good to go.
