Web Features

I want to print the link of where to buy my book IN my book.

Does the link ever change or will it always be the same?  Do I have to have my book public to find that exact link?  It’s still private for the time being.  If it needs to be public, can I temporarily make it public to find the link, put that link IN my book, then make the book private again until its offical launch.  In other words, when I re-make the book public, will it still have the same link?

Hi Cully;

This is a classic "Catch-22" scenario… You can’t get the URL until after you have uploaded your book, and each subsequent upload gets a new & different URL

However, if you have your own web-site, you can create a link that will automatically forward to the final URL; say www.culley.com/name_of_my_book that would be a "dummy" URL with a link to the end URL of the book itself…

Hope that helps;

Cheers;

Lee

The best option is to set up your own website and put its address inside your book. From your own site, you can link back to Blurb once you have published your book.

I put my book on my own site and linked back to Blurb. I also have my website listed on the copyright page of the book.

So, the book links to my website which then links back to Blurb where, on the preview of the copyright page, readers are linked back to my own website. This creates a complete, closed loop that is totally under my control.

The other thing you can do is include your "bookstore" URL in the book, which is:

http://www.blurb.com/user/store/<your username>. For instance, mine is:
http://www.blurb.com/user/store/JackLyon

This link won’t change—though keep in mind that a member’s bookstore only shows books they’ve marked as Public.
