With the system, how do I find the Name and Email address of my customers who buy my books.

I want to be able to put them on my short list to receive news about upcoming offerings.

You cannot. Anymore than you can if a customer buys a book of yours from Barnes and Nobel or Borders.

I think we should. After all, POD lets us do things that normally we could not; like print our own books and make print runs of 1. So why not give the little guy yet another good opportunity?

And part of the difference is that when someone buys something at Barnes and Nobles, not even Barnes and Nobles knows their email address. But in this format, blurb does. In essence, blurb gets a mailing list as a benefit from our self-promotion of our books. Can’t we too?

I guess I am putting this in the suggestion box.

Another option would be if blurb would be willing to let our customers know whenever we publish another book. That could be a decent compromise, and would keep people from overcontacting their customers.

And the customers could opt out of the "update" if they wanted.

And the sellers (us) could "tag" which customer "group" we wanted to notify. For example. If I release a 3rd  book that is related to my first one, I could notify the customers who bought the 1st book without bothering customers who bought my second book (because it was on a different topic).

I don’t ever need to know who the customers are. But just that a group of people bought a certain book. Seems resonable and worthwhile to me.

I do agree with you Tony, however it would be fantastic to know who purchased my book. I have been promoting my book (and Blurb) and now not sure who purchased them.

Dont get me wrong, I will take the sales as they make me happy and Dachshund rescue gets another donation so win/win.
