Mine: Order Date: 6 Dec 2007 Estimated Shipping Date: 14 Dec 2007 Current Status: PROCESSING Order Date: 9 Dec 2007 Estimated Shipping Date: 17 Dec 2007 Current Status: PROCESSING I got an email today saying "your book experienced a small production delay", but not saying which one. It looks like neither has been printed yet. I’ll stay away from Blurb in the future.

Order Date: Dec 2 Estimated Shipping Date: Dec 10 Current Status as of the end of the day on the 17th: "processing" fifteen days and still not shipped. i did email customer service twice. both times i got what seemed to me to be a cut and pasted response telling me that sometimes they miss their shipping goal by a day or two (since when does more than a week mean the same thing as a day or two?) and that it would ship soon. they did, however, upgrade my shipping to 2nd day air. which, at this point does me not an ounce of good since it’s already too late for the purpose I ordered it for. not a very happy camper here either. I’m going to give it until wednesday. If it hasn’t shipped by then, I’m pretty sure I’ll be asking to cancel my order and get a refund. Which is so very much not what I want to do after spending hours and hours of my time laying out the book and weeks waiting for it. But this is suppose to be a proof book for me. No point in a proof book from somewhere I’ll not order from again.

Folks, just so we’re all clear here..”processing” includes all of the production steps up to shipping, at which point the order is marked as “completed”. Best, —bw
bruce - i think we’re all aware that "processing" means the book is incomplete and has not shipped. we don’t need that explained to us. what we would like explained is how books ordered as late as the 13th of december are already being shipped while ours ordered as much as two weeks earlier than those books are still "processing"
My reply was to amilham who felt their book had not yet been printed. There are various issues that could cause delays in the production process, specifically if there are issues with one of the book components. Please rest assured we’re feeling the pain of those whose orders have passed the estimated shipping date, It is the most important thing we are working on each day. Best, —bw

I guess my question now would be, If we do not get our books by the date promised to us (within ONE or TWO days i will give for shipping) and it is past christmas meaning we have to purchase another present to give to the intended recipients of the book, do we get any reimbursement? I know we can not cancel our book, and you will refund NO money according to your guidelines, Is there anything that can be done?? Or are we SOL with a book that would be to late to be given?

Order Date 12-6-07 Estimated Shipping Date 12-14-07 Current Status "Processing" I’ve read this forum with a sinking heart. I’m so upset with this situation. It’s b.s that a book goes to the end of the line if there is a printing issue. Once the book is begun the printers should fix any issue and complete it. I haven’t received any email notifications about a delay. I contacted support and got the apology email. I ordered 2 copies of a 28 pg photo book, it’s not War & Peace for goodness sake. This book is my father’s Christmas gift, I wanted to do something special for him after all he’s done for me this year and now I’m afraid Blurb is going to ruin it. I just feel like crying.
bruce— can we assume that these delays are all at the same printer location? if so, why are these orders not being transfered to an alternate pritner location and being put at the beginning of the printing que?
I think Blurb would not transferred the delayed orders to an alternate printer as they don’t want to upset other customers who are on the other queue as it wants to limit the frustrated customers to 2.5% (as it claimed before). We are the unlucky ones. : (

My business partner and I have four seperate orders that are all "Processing". One order is for 36 books for an enormous client that was placed on the 6th!! Another order is for 4 books that was placed on the 8th, and the other two are for 1 book placed on the 9th. ALL ARE STILL PROCESSING. We are panicing to say the very least, especially when one client paid $200 for second day shipping. I won’t bash blurb as we have had plenty of great experiences with previous orders and any issues we have had have been solved. I am just concerned that the deadline for Christmas orders was innaccurate. This worries me. I am hoping that shipping can be bumped up for orders that are completed more than two/thre days after estimated time.

My case: Ordered: 18 Nov ......and still waiting!!! even the status is completed (???)
If the status is complete the order has shipped. If you selected UPS you will be able to monitor its status. If you opted for a non-trackable option I would recommend contacting support and they will begin assisting you in locating your order.

Thanks. I’ve already contacted but I still don’t have any solution. I’ve spent 177 euros (!!!!).

Folks, we feel we’ve made good progress over the past 24 hours on getting late orders pushed through. Please, please…if you have a late order don’t assume that by posting your concerns on the forums that your individual issue is being addressed. Be sure and contact order support so we can fully understand your issue and individual situation. Best, —bw

I really hope that my books have not been affected by this delay in processing however, I am starting to believe the worst….... Order date: December 9, 2007 Estimated Ship date: December 17, 2008 Still processing…..... <cite>??</cite>? .......... I’ve already contacted customer support and received the same blurb that anyone would get….. they advised that they will notify me by email once the book is shipped….....

Order Date: 8 Dec 2007 Estimated Shipping Date: 19 Dec 2007 Current Status: PROCESSING Like most of you, this was a gift for my mom, it was "all she wanted for x-mas". I made sure to complete the book by Blurb’s deadline. I really hope this book makes it in time, or that will be the end of me being a blurb customer, there are tons of book making companies. Sad to say, your ability to follow through on shipping deadlines is the exact type of customer service opportunity that will make or break you as a company. I am holding my breath.

Something that I find very irritating is that Blurb keeps saying it’s a "very small percentage" of orders experiencing problems. If that’s true, how is it that my two separate books, in two separate orders, placed on two different days, BOTH failed to ship on time? What are the chances of that if 97.5% of orders are processed on time? And Crys5683’s situation is even worse with 4 separate orders all delayed. Blurb is either being dishonest about the extent of this problem, or they’re singling out individual people to delay their orders (‘oh, this person’s first order is delayed, might as well delay the second too’, maybe to avoid having to delay and lose another customer?).

honestly, if your order is a day or two late, I wouldn’t panic yet. I might get a little antsy.. but there’s still time. anybody know if ups delivers on sunday? what about Christmas day? I’d hate to think of people not home with their families, but then again, not everybody has a family to be with, they get paid extra, and not everyone celebrates Christmas.. so there’s always a chance right?

UPS does not deliver on Sundays or on Christmas day, except in the case of packages shipped UPS Express Critical.

All….we share in the frustration and are closely monitoring each order that is over its Estimated Ship Date. I’ve even done some spot-checking and most, if not all, on this thread have either heard from us regarding the steps we are taking to expedite your order or your order has shipped.
For those orders that remain in a processing state, we are doing everything in our power to get these orders to you as quickly as possible. Things are changing by the hour, 24 hours a day, so stay tuned to your Order Detail Page and your inbox for updates.

I should mention that my earlier order shipped out yesterday via 2-day shipping. My second order has still not shipped yet, but today I got another "your book has been delayed" email, and the shipping has been upgraded to next day for that one.

Thanks, God. My order is finally shipped on Dec 18, 2007. Hopefully, I can get my first photobook after I return from my trip next week. Cheers!

Order Date:08 Dec 2007 Order Status:Completed Shipped On:17 Dec 2007 Shipping Method:>UPS Second Day Air
My concern is that I have a tracking number from UPS that doesn’t work. It says that "UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request…" I get the same result when I click on the link directly from Blurb as well as if I manually copy and paste the tracking number on to the UPS web site. I’m hoping that this just means that UPS hasn’t updated its system yet but a little worried after reading the other comments.

The tracking information can take some time to show up. The tracking number for my first book didn’t work yesterday, but the tracking data is showing up fine today.

Wow, this is very disheartening. My book was to ship 10 days after Gimme5’s book (17th). And if she just got hers shipped, does that mean that mine will be 10 days late at arriving? – this puts it at around the 27th-28th?? Being the book of my wife’s and I honeymoon, and being a Christmas gift, it’s really bad news for me. I think Blurb should start thinking about reimbrusments or rush deliveries because I think people would like to able to recommend/use you guys later.
Wish I had never heard of Blurb now that my wife won’t have a "personal" Christmas present on time from me.

Just thought I would update everyone….. my book was shipped out last night ( well really this morning) so it was only two days later than the original estimated ship date…. ordered December 9, shipped December 19th…. Expedited delivery…. so should arrive by this weekend….......

Hopefully, you guys get the correct book. Mine was ordered way before the deadline and I received it over a week ago, but it was someone else’s book. Yet, the processing time to get the correct book is the same as the first order. It is totally unfair to be pushed to the back of the line in this situation. Shipping was upgraded to next day (I originally had 2nd day), but they might as well ship it by pack mule now since it will be after x-mas anyway.

My book is also delayed. I spent MONTHS putting together family recipes for this book. I am not a happy camper. Not at all.

Phooey!! I just received the dreaded email. I got bumped to Next Day Air, but unless it ships tomorrow it won’t do me any good.
Received at 1:42am CST:
As you can imagine, we’re experiencing quite a holiday demand and the volume of books getting printed is quite high. Unfortunately, your order is one of a handful that has been slowed due to a number of reasons, and we feel horrible about this. ...
...That said, the most recent information we have on your order is that it is very close to being completed and shipped out. We’re pushing our printers as hard as we can and we’re confident that you’ll have your book soon…

My second book shipped out yesterday. Both are scheduled to arrive today according to UPS… Just in time. Hopefully I’ll receive the correct books and without any of the packaging problems I experienced last year. With the expedited shipping at least, they’ll end up being not very late at all. As has been stated before, better communication from Blurb and a better order status tracking system would be very helpful to prevent people from panicking when it seems like their orders have stalled.
My order status just updated to shipped. The tracking number has materialized so I’ll wait for the UPS refresh once the box is scanned at pickup. So long as it gets here tomorrow as it should, I’ll be sitting pretty. Phew!!

you lucky ducks! on day 17 of my wait and still processing. waiting waiting waiting..

Well, I spoke too soon. Looks like they shipped out too late in the day to arrive today. Delivery is "rescheduled" for tomorrow.

I’m still in limbo. I need this by Saturday or my Christmas day is ruined. <table cellspacing="0" border="0" cellpadding="0"><tbody><tr><td>Order Date:</td> <td>09 Dec 2007</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Order Status:</td> <td>Processing</td> </tr> <tr> <td style="white-space: nowrap; width: 200px">Estimated Shipping Date:</td> <td>17 Dec 2007</td></tr></tbody></table> I hope some one at Blurb loses their job over this. If you set a deadline of Dec 9 and then break that promise, you have a lot of unhappy customers on your hands. I’ll stay with Lulu.com in the future if this doesn’t arrive soon.

ordered on the 10th with an estimated ship date of 12/18 ….. If I don’t get the book by 24th will blurb pay the shipping costs for me to send the book after christmas to my in-laws ? I will see them in the 25th but after the 27th I will need to ship the book to them …. I already paid next day shipping now I will have to pay to ship the book again. REALLY poor customer service …... if you can’t deliver you should have made the deadline earlier like sometime in Nov.

Update: One of our orders shipped, the one that was ordered on the 8th (single book). But STILL three orders are processing. One being a 3K order from Blurb containing 36 Christmas gifts from a Huge client. Blurb did contact us and upgrade shipping to next day (originally second day) and other two single book orders are 4 days overdue. With Christmas quickly apporaching I am preparing to give these clients devestating news. I am hoping that Blurb will upgrage all shipping to next day to ensure Christmas delivery since that is what they promised.
I’m ticked. I ordered on Dec. 8th. After several emails this week with customer service, I was promised upgraded (Next Day) shipping… if the package wasn’t already too far along in the process. Well, I was promised that on Sunday, the package didn’t ship until Wednesday night… but still… they couldn’t upgrade the shipping within those three days. STINKS!!! I just got the shipping number, and it’s only for UPS ground. Looks like I won’t get it for Christmas. The tracking number still doesn’t work… I’m hoping that it’s just a glitch and my book will magically appear before Christmas.

Blurb needs to change their name to BLUB. I would go into detail about how BLUB screwed me over—but was nice enough to "credit" my account. So let’s see…they missed the deadlines AND the delivery was late. I’m thinking that the best solution is for everyone to contact VISA and contest the charge to your credit card.
Oops! I’m so mad that I forgot that BLUB only sent one of the four books I ordered. They said it was a three-pound package. I weighed it and it only weighed 11 oz. You know, BLUB should change it’s name to FLUB.

14 hours after shipping… and the tracking number still doesn’t work.

I just called UPS – they don’t have the package. Here’s my email to Blurb: I just called UPS, and gave them the tracking number you gave me 14 hours ago. They say the problem is on your end, they still have not received the package to ship. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!! I’ve been very polite and patient. I’ve been polite when you said you would upgrade the shipping if possible, but somehow in the three days it was sitting around, there wasn’t enough time for you to upgrade to next day. NOW I’M MAD. The package hasn’t shipped. I have a package sitting in your warehouse all day waiting to ship, while you give me a shipping number. UNACCEPTABLE. This is not how you do business. I expect you’re in over your heads. I expect my package soon, or you will hear more from me. You should not give an expected ship date for Christmas orders, if it is pie-in-the-sky hoping that it might get her by then. From posts on the forums, I’m not the only person that this has happened to. You should go out of your way to make this right for me and those people. Not charging me for my order would be a good start, since I placed this order for Christmas presents. I’m a patient person, but you’ve ruined my day. I tried really hard to make these nice presents, get everything in on time. I scanned thousands of old slides, spent hours on layout, and worked hard to make the deadline. But to no avail. And I get emails that make it sound like you’re trying to help me out, but then see on the forums that you’re saying the same things to everyone, and no one is really getting help. Please make this right.

Just to let you know they are posting tracking number that are not valid !!!! My order was changed to complete with a tracking number—- when UPS was contacted they said the tracking number was not valid—- they had no package for me—— I have sent 4 emails and have not gotten and answer—- I am contacting VISA to dispute the charge—- I guess this is just one of those internet scams !!!!!! I feel like a fool—I useally try to look out for rip-offs but this time I was had !!!!!!

It’s not a scam. I’ve used Blurb before, and they’re usually ok (thought they do take a long time), BUT… they’re really in over their head this Christmas, and they’re seriously doing damage to their business.
