I tried uploading mine yesterday and had the exact same problem. My error message was: "An internet connection could not be established at this time. Please ensure that your network connection is active and try again. 0 Init" I wrote to Blurb help and received a prompt though likely generic reply. "First, please verify that you can log into Blurb.com directly.
If you cannot, please click the "forgot password" link to reset your password.
Back in BookSmart, if you still can’t connect to the internet after clicking "order book," please try logging in with your full email address (or, if you are using your email address already, please try simply your Blurb username). ***Also, please be sure to re-type your password, rather than allowing the program to remember it.
Next, please make sure that all security programs, such as Zone Alarm, are shut down.
Also, please try uploading from an entirely different internet connection, not just a different computer on the same network. Some ISPs restrict uploads, and we often cannot solve that problem directly. Unless you are on a laptop, you will want to move your book files to another computer. To transfer your book from one computer to another open your book and select "export" from the file menu. Save the .book file to any storage location or network. On the second computer with BookSmart installed, open any book and select "import" from the file menu. Navigate to your .book file and open it." I don’t have any software firewall running. I’ve disabled all firewalls on my router and even set my computer to Demilitarised zone. None of this has helped and I still have the problem. I haven’t been able to go to a friend’s place yet to try their internet but a bit reluctant as my book is 500+megs and will take a while to upload. I’ve tried it on a different computer on my network to no avail. Perhaps there is a problem with their central server? I’m a dissapointed as I was looking forward to uploading my book this weekend. I’m currently in the process of connecting my modem directly to my computer to completely eliminate the router as a potential problem.
