Ordering and Shipping

Why is Blurb still using UPS?

Each book I have ordered has gone astray and been delayed from 3 to 5 days over the expected delivery date.  In the most recent case, it arrived in my city, according to the tracking, and then was sent back out to another city.  It still hasn’t made it back to me.  Of course, with all of this extra moving around the country, the box gets severely damaged each time.

UPS continues to get more unreliable, and the shipping charges keep going up.

Why doesn’t Blurb do two things.  1.)  Arrange for USPS shipping as an option, and 2.)  entertain bids from FedEx for the business.   I’‘ve had much more reliable service with FedEx, better tracking, and less box damage.

It’s time for Blurb to look into this mess and get rid of UPS.

Man, I hear ya.  I can’t stand UPS as other stuff I order always gets delayed, and the drivers go tearing wrecklessly on the private road I live on.  "What can brown do for me?"  Go bankrupt, or buy a calendar.  lol

Anyway, since the printer is just down the road in Seattle, I’m pretty lucky not having to deal with slow deliveries from Blurb.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with UPS. Since we ship internationally, Blurb has a fairly complex shipping system that uses several different delivery systems across the world. We’re constantly fine tuning, monitoring shipping rates, and adding new shipping centers.

That said, we’re hoping to provide some new shipping options a little later this year. Stay tuned.

Just another point of view. I have only had bad experiences with FedEx deliveries in my area and would hate for UPS to not be an option.  I have had numerious orders go astray with FedEx. I guess it is not a corporate policy of either UPS or FedEx to provide poor service but poor service can result from uncaring or poorly trained individuals in the delivery chain. I am all for more options that I can select from but I would not want to eliminate an option because of poor service in some areas.

Delivery is my only complaint. UPS stinks, I would be happy to pay FEDEX delivery especially to get  my books faster!

Just want to add my 2 cents on this.  My personal experience has been extremely poor with both FedEx and the USPS.  My experience with UPS has been excellent.  I order a lot of products online and will only use FEDEX or USPS if it is a las resort.

I find it interesting that people’s experiences on the different shippers is so divergent..

Unfortunately, I have had nothing but problems with UPS. The drivers say they deliever the goods but either they deliver to the POST OFFICE instead of the ship to address or they just don’t drop the package off at all! The tracking showed my package going from the city next door to me then back to a city 45 miles away, then back to the city on the other side of me, then to my door…however, it has yet to actually rest on my doorstep as UPS tracking says it has!
