Known Shipping Issue: Problem with shipping charges to Europe and Asia
A few weeks ago we experienced some technical difficulties with UPS shipping rates to Europe and Asia. That issue was resolved on Monday, September 10, but unfortunately, a new shipping problem has arisen in the past 24 hours. This latest issue has now been resolved, and we’ll be contacting those with orders affected by this issue on an individual basis.
Again, thanks to the folks who alerted us to this problem. We apologize for this inconvenience and greatly appreciate your patience while we sort this out.

Yes, it is back to normal UPS Standard price: €23,58 for a book that cost €28,95. I will not say thank you for that. I will instead repeat what myself and other users have requested: Please give us as soon as possible the option to use regular mail.

Indeed! I just registered, to create + order a book, but at these shipping costs any advantage in book-pricing is gone. So am I.

I want to order a book, but at the shipping method options I see "UPS Express Save" only , which is expensive.

I agree I have just created a book which I spent a huge amount of time doing. Got through to actually ordering it and the book costs more to ship to New Zealand (US$70) than to print ($65). I was actually going to create two different books as well but not at this price. This will be the last time I use the service as well.

As a totally new user to Blurb, I’m interested knowing what the "normal" shipping cost to Europe is. That seems to be a necessary information, before spending a lot of time on this service, after reading the above. I don’t want to spend a lot of time, finding that it’s more expensive to ship than to print. Could anybody tell me?! Name an example, for some format and a specified number of pages. That would give me a hint before starting. Everything else seem to be fine here.

i have just ordered two 8×10 inch hardback books with 20 pages each and the postage to the UK was £9.24. Blurb are acutely aware that the USP delivery service is less than optimum and new solutions are now under consideration.
You may want to skim this thread because it answers many of the concerns which I had and which are implicit in your posting…

I just ordered the hardcover standard landscape book, 46 pages, shipping to Denmark. The shipping costs were $24.58. I do hope there will be other shipping options, this is just to expensive.

It seems that distribution prices with blurb is somewhat like the stock market… As I’m in no hurry with my book, I can wait. Let’s hope that the link jayemcee gave will end up in good alternatives for us in Europe.

Yeah, I’m seeing only UPS Express Saver for shipping to Japan, and one 7×7 softcover runs $92.30. I know they’re aware that current shipping options are sub-optimal, but really, that’s just totally obnoxious. Hope an alternative gets worked out—like to see the book someday.

I realized the new prices in the above link. For Sweden: 7,82 € via Swiss Post instead of 23,58€ via UPS. Quite a difference! It makes Blurb a much more interesting alternative for me to test. Thank you!
