Thanks ‘Technical Support Guys”! You not only made my day with verification of what I was seeing but you also educated me about “stemming”. As you can imagine, this is a pretty important issue and I have all the faith the group there in San Francisco will take care of this with some urgency.

From my experience, you’re doing a good job…keep it up,

Mark

Searching Tags
BookSmart

Has anyone else tested the ability of Blurbs search engine for finding “Tags” associated with book titles? I have been checking this out and it seems that when putting in a partial word to search, e.g. Arch for Arches, the engine does not find Arches.

black versus white background
General Interest

No differences I can see. The images on a dark (black) background will always appear to be more saturated than on a white background. A trick of the trade is to view all images on a dark gray background when in the evaluating stages and attempting to make proper color/density decisions about the image.

blank spine on dust cover
BookSmart

I had the same thing occur on my hardcover dust sleeve. I would be interested to hear what Blurb had say about this one.

Quality of Blurb archival paper in question
BookSmart

Brian, I agree with all the comments you make. I can only assume one of the reasons the paper they use was chosen was for its handling capabilities…by the reader and anyone else “flipping through the pages. The paper stock they are using just about eliminates fingerprints and other handling problems you would normally have, even though I agree, glossy sure would make the images “pop”.

Books taking longer than usual?
General Interest

I think you’ve been very lucky. IEvery order I placed has taken the full 10-14 days to arrive (business days).
