just curious about the printers
General Interest
The books I ordered to a San Francisco address came from Seattle, and the books that went to New York addresses came from W. Springfield, MA.

300 ppi
Book Design and Imaging
No, the PPI doesn’t matter, only the actual pixel dimensions. I recently went through a lot of back & forth with Blurb support on it. Setting the PPI in Photoshop doesn’t change the image, it only changes how Photoshop reports the dimensions in Inches/Centimeters. The pixel dimensions don’t change. If the pixel dimensions are equal or better than the "container" in BookSmart, you’re good. BUT… I found that if your images are much higher resolution than the "container", that you get better results by doing your cropping and resizing in Photoshop, to fit the exact dimensions of the BookSmart "container". That way you can sharpen if necessary. It comes out better than having BookSmart (or is it at the actual printer?) resizing the image.

How long does it take to get a book
General Interest
Well, it makes some sense. Blurb uses more than one printer – apparently the Seattle one (for shipping to CA) is fast, but whichever one is printing for my NY shipments is backed up. My guess is you’re not on the West coast. What city is your order shipping to?

How long does it take to get a book
General Interest
Where in the country are you? I placed two orders to San Francisco (on 8/28 and 9/9), which each shipped in 2 days (from the Seattle printer). I placed two orders (same book) to New York on 9/9, which still haven’t shipped. Would have been faster for my New York books to print in Seattle and ship longer!
