What percentage lighter should I make my B/W images?
Book Design and Imaging

This has nothing much to do with b&w.

I hope you realize that there is no consitently reliable way that you can use your eyes to properly calibrate your monitor.

In addition, the laptop screen you are looking at changes the apparent image darkness when you alter the viewing angle (mine does this) .

The best you can hope for on that laptop is a reasonable targeted printing ONLY IF you have used a monitor hardware calibration device. AND are viewing the screen AT the proper angle. You are better off with a properly calibrated desktop monitor BUT it can be done with that small screen, but likely not on a first printing.

You might be somewhat in luck, I note that X-Rite is offering a free laptop screen calibration: http://xritephoto.com/

Send to Blurb
Ordering and Shipping

Not necessarily.

I would update to LR5.2, and in LR make sure you are logged into Blurb before attempting to upload a book.

Lightroom 5 and the Spine
Book Design and Imaging

Depending on the template you are using, ou might find that this works better in Lightroom 5.2RC than 5.0.

Project Details Are Missing !!!
PDF to Book

Last night I attempted to Upload a finished project to Blurb using the Blurb Book Creator plugin for InDesign CS5.5.

It refused to let me do so because, even though I set the cover template page count correctly, the page count wasstill incorrect for my pages file! I had to resort to manually uploading the PDF files to Blurb.

Today when I went back to my Project it appears to be completely missing from BBC except for a missleading Project Name as seen in the dialog:

 Project Creator Dialog

There are NO project details now to be seen. What then my I ask is the purpose of these plugins when they can’t update themselves correctly for a working project ?

Is there some simple solution for this problem now, or do I need to recreate my InDesign project files ?
