impressions on my book
Book Printing

UPDATE:

I wrote to the blurb support and got a reply the same day. they asked for some photos of the printed book and then decided to send me a new copy, for free.

the new copy arrived yesterday, and the photos are slightly lighter, which is an improvement. As for the dust jacket problem, nothing changed, the image is still not centered in the exact position of the first copy.

So, even if the problems were not completely solved, I want to say that blurb support and attention to the customer is great!

impressions on my book
Book Printing

I’ve just received the first copy of my book, and here are my thoughts:

Overall, it’s a good quality and the book impresses everyone who looks at it. and I’m obviously happy with it

But, there are two main issues which I’m not completely satisfied with:

1) the cover image (on the dust jacket) is not centered, although it is centered in the file version I’ve uploaded

2) the images are darker than expected, a lot darker, with loss of many details in dark areas of the photos. I know that printed images look darked than on screen, but I had printed many of these before and they never look so dark. So I believe that it’s blurb’s fault, at least partially..

I’m anyway impressed on the quality and willing to order other copies as gifts for friends and family. What should I do to get  the above issues solved (possibly without brightening all images and uploading a new version of the book)?
