Is 180 dpi enough to ensure clear crisp photos?
BookSmart

Wow …Mike seems to be a real douche.

…and he didn’t even answer the question.

What's the best size font I should use?
Tips and Tricks

I use 9pt Georgia. I like it but have heard some comments from 60 pluser’s that it is too small. At most I would go to 11 …but thats just me.

Dust Jacket Printing GREAT...Pages Photos WAY TOO DARK !! HELP
Tips and Tricks

Have the same problem – although not to the extent that they are useless. I really think you need to use the HP5000 ICC profile. Blurb does print dark…

I’m using a calibrated monitor and sRGB but not the HP5000 profile. …on some photos that have made me thousands of dollars without one complaint, which would lead me to believe Blurb prints dark, or the rest of the world just prints too light. Hmmm.

If yopur photos are unusable though – something is off with either your monitor or ICC prfile, probably a combination of both. Believe me, your not alone, and it’s frustrating, you just have to get to the point where you are happy with the book, without spending alot of money.

Book Design and Imaging

Thanks Robin – I usually use Tiff also. Just not sure what would be best for blurb.

Thanks

ICC profile when saving in PS
Book Design and Imaging

When saving an image in PSE (for blurb) – am I correct in assuming that the "ICC Profile" box should be checked?

Also – which is best – baseline, optimized or progressive?

 Thanks

John
